1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit. They allow the website to recognise your device on return visits, remember your preferences, and gather analytical information about how you use the site.
Similar technologies — such as web beacons, pixel tags, local storage objects, and session storage — operate in comparable ways. References to "cookies" in this policy include these similar technologies unless we state otherwise.
2. Australian privacy law
Australia does not have a specific cookie-consent law equivalent to the EU's ePrivacy Directive. However, where cookies collect information that identifies you or could reasonably identify you, that information constitutes personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
We handle any personal information collected through cookies in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This means we only collect what is necessary, use it for the purposes set out below, and take reasonable steps to keep it secure.
In plain terms: This site doesn't set cookies and doesn't run analytics. We can't build a profile on you, and there's nothing for you to opt out of.
3. Cookies we use
This Site sets no cookies at all. It is a static website. We do not place essential, preference, or analytics cookies, we do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics product, and we do not use local storage or session storage to track you.
We have deliberately built the Site so that browsing it requires no cookies. There is no advertising network, no retargeting pixel, no social media tracker, and no behavioural profiling of any kind.
The only information we receive from you is what you choose to type into our contact form and submit. That is handled under our Privacy Policy, not this policy — submitting the form does not set a cookie either.
If we introduce cookies in future — for example, if we add analytics to understand which pages are useful — we will update this policy before doing so, and where consent is required we will ask for it.
4. Third-party requests
The Site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Requesting a font discloses your IP address and browser details to Google, which may process them outside Australia. Google Fonts does not set cookies. Aside from Google Fonts, every asset on the Site is served from our own domain.
We do not embed third-party video players, social media widgets, comment systems, or sharing buttons, so no other third party can set cookies through the Site.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. If we introduce them in future, we will update this policy and, where appropriate, seek your consent before placing them.
5. Managing cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View cookies stored on your device
- Delete all or specific cookies
- Block cookies from all or specific sites
- Block third-party cookies
- Clear cookies when you close the browser
Browser-specific instructions:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
Please note: because this Site sets no cookies, blocking cookies for zimritech.com.au will not affect how the Site works. The controls above are listed for completeness and for managing other sites you visit.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry-wide standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Because we do not track visitors in the first place — no analytics, no cookies, no cross-site behavioural advertising — there is no tracking for a DNT signal to switch off.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated. We encourage you to check back periodically.
